When robots move, a constant hum is heard due to the motors which power the rotation of joint shafts and linear motion. Robots are often associated with movements that are awkward and jerky.Not so with Johnnie. The robot developed by Munich´s Technical University stands out from the crowd: not only does Johnnie have sensory systems that allow him to "touch" and "feel", the movements he makes are very similar to those of humans.
Johnnie relies on effective assistance from Carry: Carry 12 x 5 ball screws support its human-like and smooth movements.
