Boarding made easy

It is not easy to board a bus in a wheelchair or with a loaded shopping trolley when the vehicle is equipped with today´s conventional boarding ramps. Things would be much easier with fold-away ramps. To facilitate access, a fold-away ramp has no steps and retracts after boarding. A screw secured to the gear motor extends the ramp and associated nut. Because of its "square" pitch the Carry 12.7 x 12.7 ball screw is used here to position the ramp with utmost precision and to deliver the required speed.
